GM Gen III in custom 56 Ford truck,

So, I work on old trucks, it is Texas after all, and would like to use this skill when I retire from daily work as an income base.

    I have a custom all Ford truck 1955 (460, 435hp, C6 trans...)
and am now working on a big window 56.. it came with a 408 smallblock ford stroker, but I want to show that we can do something else, modern EFI. etc.

so I decided to install an engine from a late model truck. LM7, then convert the intake over to LS1, and the rail covers..

this will give drive-ability, decent mileage (the 460 gets 5mpg I think).. and hopefully some fun performance, at a reasonable price.

this is the story of that mod as I go along.

how do I upload pics from my machine? I see pics from URL..
    my green truck, all ford

here is the red truck (nice 50 ft-er!)

    I need to squeeze this

    into this

at least it fits! note that the cab is lifted 6 inches to work on the floor.

this chassis was pretty hacked up from the previous owner

had to cut out the uck , repair

and install a Mustang II clip

I was going to install a 94 tbi smallblock, but someone made me a deal

here is what green truck looked like on arrival home

Old trucks are just plain cool in my book. Only one I ever had an opportunity to wrench on was a Ford F-1 running a flattie. Looks like you have got your hands full on these projects and that you do damn nice work. You will not be disappointed with the LS engine, the little 5.3 in our 6,200 lb. Suburban never ceases to amaze me with what it can do.

Looks good -- nice and clean with all sorts of space left over.
