Cruise In Pics

Went up to a dealership sponsored cruise in last night with a few friends. We got rained on just a bit on the ride up, but then it cleared off for us. I think the threatening weather kept the attendance down quite a bit as last year's show was much bigger. This is usually coordinated with Gordie Chilson's annual AMC show, but that was cancelled this year due to a scheduling change for the Nats, so only a few AMC's made an appearance.

My brother-in-law drove the Monte and upon parking the car we noticed coolant on the ground. Turns out someone had been there a few minutes before and their car leaked all over, so they immediately left. I had finished a coolant flush on the Monte last week and changed out all the hoses -- so just a quick scare to get the heart rate up.

Can anyone ID this car (below)? Not something you see every day...

The owner of the dealership has a sweet looking Rambler-Scrambler. He has a few other treasures that rarely come out. It was getting dark and my camera does not do well with its underpowered flash.

There was one other Monte at the show -- I think it's an '87. Not a very clean car, but it had a little surprise under the hood.

That Monte doesnt look like its seen soap since 1987!! Wow,why would you own a car like that and treat it that way?!?!? Some people!!!

Nice pics Jeff! Sorry I missed out on the show but other things "came up". Chilson has some very cool AMX cars, Jaavelin AMXs, and a few Corvettes I think too along with some old dragsters.

I hate the cheap-o wheels on that blue Cuda.

Late production "B" paint scheme on the Scrambler. Those are cool little cars. My former neighbor was a huge AMC fan with several in his collection. I'd own one if the opportunity ever presented itself.

For those interested, here is a link to an "A" paint scheme. Which if memory serves me, were put on the first 1500 cars.

This is the more popular paint scheme among the AMC collectors, and I have to say it would be my first choice too.
