There are some things you just can't test in a white lab coat.

So, the install went fairly well with only a couple minor issues that were solved easily with the help of my brother.

I was also able to get my brother to help me install the Hedman Hustler 1 7/8 ceramic coated headers.

Got the Hurst shifter sticking through the floor. Decided to go with a more modern look instead of the 60's style long curved stick.

A shot of the headers at the collectors.

I got the valley cover torqued in and all the accessories installed, minus the belt; the correct length belt will arrive later this week. I also installed the Trick Flow coolant steam port kit.

I've had my eye on that trick flow steam kit for a while just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet
Awesome work so far, keep it up!

It's not the top of the line kit from Trick Flow but it still looks better than the stock units.

That shifter loooks LOW! Can you reach it comfortably from the driver seat?

Coming together nice -- the fitment on everything looks real good.

Here are the latest pics of my Chevelle. It's coming along nice and hopefully next month I will be able to fire her up.

The shifter is actually perfect. If my hand is on my leg I just have to reach over without stretching.

Thanks Jeff, I am really trying to keep it as clean as possible. Some things are a pain but that goes along with any custom application. I should have the rest of the fuel injection done by the weekend so we'll see how much cleaner it becomes once all the wiring is in it's proper place.

Alex, Update on the Trick Flow steam kit setup. I actually had to take it off and go with the stock pieces. The Fast LSXR intake takes up too much room to allow the kit to fit properly.

I like how you painted the exhaust and tank. Not something I would have thought to do. The car looks super clean all the way around. Making me rethink my long time opinion that shiny is always better.

I have never really been into chrome other than bumpers and a nice set of shiny wheels. I also try and do some 4 wheeling when I can and there is a saying that "Chrome won't get you home". I really like the stealth look with flat or satin paints and I think that over doing chrome tends to take away from the craftsmanship and shouts "LOOK AT ME" instead of focusing on the finer details.
