In fact, I had to trim the foam pad up against the seat in order to make the grills fit properly.
There are some things you just can't test in a white lab coat.

Installed an 8 inch dual diaphragm booster, master cylinder, brake lines, relocated the proportioning valve to the side of the master cylinder and now its time to start leak checking the system. Master cylinder for the hydraulic clutch installed. Still need to mount the reservoir but I will wait until the engine is in.

UPDATE: It's been slow going over the past couple months but hopefully in about two week I will have some updated pics showing the door install. This will probably be my last step before digging in to the mill and starting the winter project of engine and trans assembly; stay tuned.

So, it's finally here. I began today putting my engine together, a day I have been waiting for, for a really long time.

Prepping the block for studs, bearings, and crank.

Installed ARP studs along with Clevite coated bearings

Crank set in with Mains all torqued. I also installed the Block Plugs and file fitted all of the piston rings. Next I will be on to the Rods and Pistons.

Thanks. It is time consuming but I want to make sure this thing holds up and taking the extra steps to make sure it's right will be well worth it.

Spent the last day and a half getting more of my mill put together and it's really starting to come together and look like a true power plant.

Eagle 6.125 rods with ARP 8740 bolts and 4.030 JE pistons with coated skirts; total cubic inch is now 370 from the stock 364 6.0l.

At this point, all of the pistons have been mated to their rods and the rings are all installed as well.

First slug in without any issues.

Here we have a complete lower end rotating assembly.

Installed a Comp Cams double roller timing set with the Lunati bump stick and oil pump.

Muscle Car oil pan from GM, LS7 lifters and cups, Comp Cams front timing cover.

F1 Racing reduced mass billet flywheel.

Cleaned all the ARP hardware in prep for installing the LS3 heads.

    Cometic .040 MLS head gaskets.

Heads on and torqued with Lunati .660 lift dual valve springs.

Temp install of the Comp Cams chromoly rockers with push rod checkers. Once I figure out what the proper length is then I will order up a set of 1 piece push rods.

View of the billet flywheel before installing the clutch.

Installed an LS7 pressure plate and friction.

The trans got a hydraulic T.O. bearing from American Powertrain.

Here is the trans with the bellhousing installed and the hydraulic line hanging out the side.

Everything is now ready to be installed in my Chevelle's engine bay.
