I didnt read through all of the posts but you will want some good heads and a intake to keep making power that high in the rpms. Theres no point in reving to 8k if you power is dropping off.

I have a 69 Camaro and have been kicking this around for awhile. It's an auto car with Z28 stripes/badging. Been thinking about a 6 speed with a destroked LSx. Yeah, I know all about having displacement, etc...spent many years in the engine biz. I just want to do it...cuz I can.
I know where some one off Callies short stroke cranks are along with some other nifty Rolex Car engines:
6 LS 6 engine assemblies that are currently 5L but can be converted to 5.8 L [ Callies cranks,Dyres Rods,Jesel rockers,Cloyes Hex adjust timing chain, roller cam bearings,CNC ported heads, Titanium int. and exh.valves] The engines do not have oil pans or water pumps.
6 LS 2 engine assemblies that are currently 5L but can be converted to 6L. These have the same components as above but include sleeved blocks
Cranks 12 @3.185 stroke 3 @ 3.5 stroke These are Callies cranks Ultra Lite 38-41 LBS 1.888 rod / STD main
LS 2 Cyle heads 14 sets CNC ported can come with valves [titanium] int. 2.0/ exh 1.55
Jesel rockers to many to count
