Will the L92 heads work on a LS1? I have heard both ways. Can anyone clear this up and if it does work how well?

Not recommended.
I believe because the valves are too big.

The valve spacing on the L92's is larger therefore the heads will not work on an LS1/6 Block. Doesn't matter anyway they are serious overkill on a 346
