    When to replace timing chain

    Guys:

I'm gonna buy a 1999 T/A LS1 (6-speed) with 150,000 miles on it. The owner does not know if the timing chain was ever replaced.

    (1) As such, should I replace the timing chain with an LS2 chain?

    (2) How much will it cost at a shop to do the work (labor cost)?

I don't know what the recommended is but I can tell you I changed my cam and valvetrain at 146k and I could almost jumprope with all the slack in my stock one.
