what's needed?
I have a mti r1 cam specs 232/236@50 575/578 w/ 112 lobe sep. with a cam this big do i need the dual springs? and also would a ported ls6 oil pump be needed or would the plain ls6 work?

That isn't a big cam.
Dual springs aren't needed for that....but it never hurts for piece of mind.

well seeing how its the first one going in i figured its a good start for a dd and ill probably get the dual springs price isn't that big of a difference what about the ported or not ported oil pump?

On the oil pump...there isn't much of a difference.
Mine is a ported LS6 though. Got it for the price of the non-ported.

Do you need dual springs? No, but if you are going to have the engine apart then I would always upgrade the springs while I’m there. I’d also switch to Ti retainers, because the retainers and springs may not be needed, but are cheap insurance policies. Why risk floating a valve and killing an engine over a few hundred dollars? For oil pumps porter or not I vote for ported.
