Welcome to the Club. your gunna love it! The only problem i have had so far is a leaking axel seal which was an easy fix. as long as you leave street tires on your car you will never get enough traction to break it. I have taken mine to the track twice now with no problems or howling. But as soon as i have the money i am going to get a 9". What 408 did you go with?

TSP 402 here. Eagle crank (would probably go a different route if I ever do it again), Lunati ProMod rods, Mahle pistons.
    Patriot LS6 stage III's milled .020"

I am not really that familiar with the TF's.

I know I was pleasantly surprised at my output with the Patriots. Didn't expect 531RWHP....
I would LOVE to throw some AFR 225's on my motor, but that is down the road....a long ways.

well the shop building my motor keeps preaching about tf but they are a tf dealer soooo they might be a lil one sided

im not gonna get 531rwhp im an auto with 4.10s im hoping for 490plus the trickflows cost about 2400 where as the patriots are 1300 i know u get what u pay for but realistically how much more gain could i possibly get 20 maybe is that worth the extra 1100???

It is under the peak that most of the 'As Cast' heads shine.

I would expect a 10-15RWHP gain at peak with AFR's, but I bet it would pick up 20-25 across the RPM range.

This would have been someone's sig on Tech haha! I can attest that you can break a 10 bolt on street tires (bald ones at that) and I'm cam only. Merging onto the blue route had her in 2nd at about 4500rpm and mashed it... BOOM!!! This was 2 weeks after I got my car running after it had sat all winter with a blown engine

I've got the patroit's as well with the 59CC chambers. great head for the price. IMO the extra $ could just be spent on N20 and you would see more gains.

Bad luck, definitely, but people break em left and right and some under stock power. That rear was the oem rear with like 85k on it and never had gear whine, made any noises, or leaked a drop of oil. Just replaced axle bearings and seals and 1 axle (scored from a bad bearing) a year prior too...The same rear (10 bolt) is in me brother's 4 cylinder s-10.

my rear has 101K with just a gear swap and its still holding up. I think alot of it has to do with how hard you are on it. The guy i bought the car from blew up the rear when the car had only 3k miles on it with stock power. so its like a game of russian rulette
