    which valve springs are better

i need to get a new set of valvesprings. i have a '98 trans am with 53,000 miles on it. i dont plan to change the cam so i am going to get some harland sharp 1.8 roller rockers. i know i need to change my springs so i was looking at these two options:

    http://www.byunspeed.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6291

    or

    http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=2523

i can see theres a big price difference but is one spring really any better than the other?

I did and would go with the Comp 918 springs since you will be under .600" lift

do u think its worth the extra $109 over the ls6 springs though? just trying to keep a lower budget but still have the reliability for when i go to the 1.8 rocker.

with the added lift the 1.8 rockers will give you i think the ls6 springs might be alittle too small....personally I wouldn't chance it

oh ok. what about those granatelli springs.... they say they increase the hp by 15-20 for applications under 560 lift but im not sure if thats just a marketing gimmick or if its true...

a valve spring shouldn't be an hp adder.....i will tell you I've been sucked in to "buy this it will add 10hp" before and those parts are not on my car anymore

Go with the ls-6 springs with your stock cam as they are good for 570 inches of lift which is roughly a .030 increase in valve lift .youre pre 2000 ls1 stock cam has .500 inch valve lift which would put you at .530 lift thats well below the .570 the springs can handle.

sounds like a good idea especially that i just found the set of LS6 springs for only $52 from Lingenfelter.
