just a quick question will stock ls6 valve springs stand up to a mild .556/.556 lift and last for tens of thousands of miles?I have the blue ones.

I wouldn't test them. A 918 beehive is a cheap upgrade for such an important part.

    Thumbs up +1

if i were u i would go with the better valve springs as the ls6 beehive springs become very unstable at high rpms when the comp cams valve springs are made out of a stronger metal and will hold up way way way way better in the long run so u dont have to pull the headsoff and replace the valvesprings or even a whole top ends just because you were redlining it at he track for 12 seconds. Saftey first that even goes with your car Happy modding and happy t-day,

I like a PAC 1218 over a Comp 1518. Seen too many break though Comp claims to have fixed the problem.

wow thanks for all the input. I'm a little scared of the comp springs as a good friend of mine broke a spring and dropped a valve at 6500 rpm and destroyed the engine. There are so many options and this is my first gen III. Lots of gen I though and i can't believe how different they are.

    Yes they are very different

There was a bad batch years ago. By now the problem has been found, and corrected. Either way, there are many choices.
