Same here, alot of people like to talk up Comp Cams but I havent personally been blown away by them. I have heard mixed stories from Comp Cams users and heard whore stroies about their beehive springs.

Yeah, i have aswell, i have a lingenfelter cam, But i have heard good stuff about those Magic Sticks. Some are leaning towards horsepower peak instead of a nice curve though, thats the only reason i didnt like them. I heard they make good power but now that great of a powerband.

    TSP uses Comp Cams grinds.

    As do most shops.

I have a TSP grind in my stroker. Worked well with my set-up. It actually surprised me since I have Patriot heads.

It's not bullshit. TSPs cams in general are a little soft in the midrange - and that's just the way it is. Been proven on a local dyno here time and time again. That being said, I put the MS4 in my 346, and absolutely love it. The MS4 is not ideal for a 383 though. TSP should be able to spec you a custom grind that will work better for the same price. Finally not only is the MS4 a little bigger than earlier Magic Sticks, but it drives worlds better. The MS (231/237) and MS2 (233/239) as well as the MS3 are very soft on torque. The MS4 uses a different intake lobe, and seems to do a little better. I couldn't tell you from personal experience though, as my loose converter never sees sub-4800 RPMs at WOT.

Yea, I am curious to see what the others say Im not a Huge Comp Cams guy, I heard from Mr. Lous that TSP uses Comp Cams grinds, But I hear diffrent things at the track and then see diffrent times. So TSP is kinda the favorite to me.

    TSP uses Comp Cams blanks.

The grinds are TSP grinds they designed.

How old?? I bet TSP used Lunati lobes until the Comp XE-R lobe got released.

Although you can't go wrong with either.

Late 2003 early 2004 ran it with patriot heads. It is on a 112+2, I still love that cam. It was "big" back then and is very easy to tune.

I have a MS3 and it was shipped straight from comp cams. Like Mr. Lous said comp cam blanks TSP specs.

I love my MS4. If you are getting one and have valve reliefs on your new pistons, I would go with 110* (it will give you a better midrange and valve events) but like it was said a custom setup for your engine will work better.

Damn near any aftermarket cam will give you lope at idle.
That one you are talking about most certainly will.
