    Trick Flow Heads and Cam Steetable?

    I was thinking about insalling the the Trick Flow Heads and Cam and was wondering if you guys think it will be reliable? The 515hp kit with the larger cam is what I was thiking about along with a good tune.

    I have the larger Trick Flow cam in my setup. I went with a 112 LSA because I wanted a noticeable chop in the idle and with a good tune, my car is VERY streetable. Just after the cam install, the idle was a little choppy and it took a little work to get the tune where we wanted it to be. I went back shortly thereafter for my head swap and they bumped up the idle ever so slightly and now it is a good bit smoother. I am just at the point where I can almost let completely out of the clutch and start moving without even touching the gas pedal.

    I have been more than pleased with the cam and in hindsight, I certainly wouldn't have gone any smaller (despite my requirement for great street manners). You will find that these cams aren't throwing out the ridiculous power numbers we're seeing from some of the larger cams, however they are making very respectable power with a torque curve that is absolutely sick! For example, my peak TQ is 406, however I'm already making over 350 ft/lbs at 2,700 rpm.
    2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.


    1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.
