Most of them don't make it to 400 on the dyno I tune on, and the hot cam makes some noise, but is sure to disappoint in the HP department. It's a fair amount of work involved in the swap. I'd never do it for such a small gain.

What is it with people on this site and the Hot cam already ??!?
What would you guess HP wise???

Made 358rwhp on a 99 M6, headers & ORY, lid & K&N, stock rear and clutch and a hotcam about a month ago. It's somewhat rare that I get them on the dyno. The hotcam guys usually want tuning on the street with a wideband because they don't want to pay for dyno time.

Why not go with something tried and true like a 224 cam on a 112. It'll have that sound and a great curve. It can support big power with a heads and intake down the road if you decide to go that route as well.

Dam man you are totally right those numbers are shit... My old stock motor with just SLP CAI dynoed 336.8 hp. I didn't know it was that low my best friends dad's LS1 2002 WS6 dynoed 376.8 with just QTP longtubes and Slp Lid....
You guys are right I am going to have to talk some sence in to him and get some balls. Those dyno numbers would piss me off after installing his cam and tearing down his engine....

You guy's dyno operator must be giving you STD instead of SAE correction. I just commented on it in your other patriot thread as well. I have looked at hundreds of cars here on a DJ224 and have NEVER seen numbers like the two you just posted about from CAIs or even full boltons. The highest I have seen for boltons was a 20K mile '02 WS6 that made just over 360rwhp (that also had QTPs)....

POST #106- from what I have read those numbers are way high for LTs and a lid-even though there are a few LS1 freaks running around-I doubt both those cars are.

It was like 376rwhp but not conclusive, the weather station was failing the day it was tuned. For those who don't understand: that means we got the car tuned fine but the correction factor for SAE was screwed up.

Just read this entire thread. I thought for sure by now you would have some numbers for all of us to adimre. You must be out cruising the streets and tearing up the track all day and night long and do not have time for all of us waiting patiently like it is Christmas morning when we were just kids! Sounds like a good set up! Enjoy...

    Thanks! I found it!

I have found there is always something better we could have done and always something we should not have done. This is how we learn about our cars! The blessing for this guy is that he now has it done and the car is better for it now!
