    Took the plunge with heads!

Just placed my order today, PRC 5.3 heads milled to 59cc for more compression. Powerbond 25% UD pulley, and the gaskets/bolt kit for the head swap. Also have LS6 manifold sitting in garage waiting to go too. TR224 114 cam already on the car, before dyno netted 368 hp & 358 tq, won't be getting tuned til beg of Feb so I will have to wait a bit to see what gains I net.

Awesome! Do you wish you went with a bigger cam? Like a 228? I have 5.3 Linegnfelter heads and I have been looking at the V.2

I will say those 5.3's make it run pretty nasty! I even had mine milled to 59cc to bump the static compression to 11.0:1. However due to milling the heads it is now even more vital I use nothing but 93 octane which is what I always use anyway.

Nope no regrets at all with the cam choice. When I got it a few years back I did lots of research and the TR224 was tried and true. No lack of great results from it. I know a 228 or 230 would have squeezed a few more peak ponies but I was really concerned with under the curve and midrange power. I don't run the car at the track, just want a stout DD that will kick ass for many years to come as I plan on keeping the car forever.

I hear ya... Think Im going with the V.2...

I need track numbers to brag about with my cousin. I need to show him that this TA will RUN. That side of my family sorta looks down on this car. They are die hard ford fans. Deep down they know... but I really want a mid-high 11 time slip to mail to his hose.

Plus I still think the V.2 will run great on the street.
