I have been shopping around for a new timing chain. Do you have to buy the whole timing set or is simply replacing the chain with a double roller possible? I am gathering parts for my cam swap and want to do it all while i am in there.

you can get a LS2 timing chain from texas speed for 37 bucks, its supposed to be toughSLP LT's, SLP High Flow Cats, 3" Flowmaster CB, Comp Cam, SLP Lid, LS6 Intake, BBK 80mm TB, SFC, Ram Air HO Hood, Lowered, Torq Thrust II's

JP performance makes a billet one for around $100.00 with both gears and ture double roller chain.
