You prob gonna need a supercharger or aps turbo system to get those numbers on the ls1. and for sure you would need to upgrade your 10 bolt rear

Can't be done on a stock cubic inch, this will help
    http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/genera...heads-cam.html

I don't know the name of the kit but they do have plates that slap in between the block and the heads to give you more cubic inches.

I also have some worked 5.3 heads if your interested neighbor
and head gaskets and ls7 lifters.

On top of a S/C or Turbo, you are also going to need forged internals with that much power and an awesome tune. LS1's are only good for 8PSI without forging internals. You can try running more, but your $hit will eventually break and you then could be causing yourself even more headaches and money then just doing it right the first time.

Rear-end replacement will also be a must as mentioned. I would be looking to upgrade some of your suspension parts too.

If you want to play, you have to pay......

i believe you can get that hp on stock cubes but you may need to go with an aftermarket block and like the rest said some damn good internals. To get that kind of hp your going to be revving really high so a huge cam, high flow ported heads, and a FAST 102mm or sheet metal intake. I think it is possible but it is not going to be cost effective if your keeping with the stock or stockish motor.

Why would you need a aftermarket block? How does that add hp?

600whp is extremely hard to make on stock cubes, the car would be a track only car with a 13 to 1 comp ratio and a cam that makes the car run like crap unless your at WOT. Some light forged internals would be helpful aswell as the car would need to make power to 8k+rpms.

If you are just upgradeing the heads and cam then you can get a streetable setup that makes 450whp and with a 100-150 shot you would be around 600whp.

I had the same thoughts when it came to getting to 600ish hp by using NOS. My experience w.it is limited, but I'm sure if your going to dumping 150+ shot often, your internals may not like it too much.

I would do a cam/head/intake pacakge with supporting mods and a 100 shot. Should put you right around 550whp, most people have had there internals last a long time on a cam/100 shot setup and some havent.

D1SC Procharger will put you at 550whp on a stock bottom end. And there would be no need to fill a bottle up!

With the trick flow genx setup you can bolt on 515 hp with ls6 manifold and stock bottom end

at the crank I know most people realize that is not at the rear wheels but for some of the new people it can be misleading.

afr, trickflow, texas speed heads. A d1sc will get you at 500whp with headers.

i would go 402/408 LQ9 block, forged internals, good set of heads and good size custom grind cam, FAST intake, full exhaust true duals. you would get from 500-550rwhp with that setup IMO

you will need a 9in rearend with that kind of hp that is forsure there is no way around it

with a really good tuner the car will run really good on the street for every day driving and track

The ls7 fits, but its kinda pointless. Your gonna pay As much for a stock 440whp ls7 and you would to build a 550whp lq9.
