That cam is really big for a stock motor, are you going to be running a bigger motor or stroked?

What sort of power/driveablility are you looking to do? That makes a huge decision on what kind of cam to choose. Do you have any future plans for the motor?

I think its a big cam for stock cubes, too big. Its not going to be very street friendly.

If you are on stock cubes, don't be upset when a TR224 kicks your ass.

My thoughts... That cam is way to big for a 346 CI motor.

I really hope you plan on spending the majority of your time in the 4-5000 RPM where this cam is making power. Who recommended this cam to you? I suggest you call Comp Cams and tell them your mods and then see if they recommend anything remotely close to this cam. That cam is fit for a 408. Maybe.

What other mods do you have?

On the street? I could see it happening. The 224 makes power on a way better curve than that cam posted above. A 224, while IMO eyes is a tad to small(228 better)... will make a more streetable power band time and time again.

Too big for stock motor. Those specs look like a stroker cam.

You think a 248/254.600/.612 112LSA is going to be better on the street than a 228?

I hope someone knows an awesome tuner.

That cam will make more power and torque. Prolly 30+hp on the top end.

    Peak power? Yes?

Power down decently low where a "normal" street driver can use it? No.

I am in no way saying that the cam posted wont' produce more peak power. That is obvious to anyone who knows anything about camshafts.

I am saying that for a street drivin car, this cam would not be My choice. If peak Dynamometer power is what your looking for... carry on.

A 224/228 wouldn't make more power anywhere. And we were talking about a 224 cam car "smoking" this other cam car, indicating a race to me. Racing usually occurs up top (street or track). Maybe you wouldn't like to drive a car with a cam of this size on the street, I wouldn't either. That's why I went with the cam I chose but it ain't gonna lose a race to the 224/228.
