    Amsoil.
Or Pennzoil Platinum when it comes to off-the-shelf stuff.

15W50 Mobil synthetic. I dont run mine in the cold or winter months. Important! don't beat on it until the oils hot (as with any weight you run). Then I drive it like it is stolen, for the last 88,000 miles. John

    You are wasting your money.

Mobil 1 is overpriced. Not bad oil, but doesn't compete with some cheaper synthetics anymore.

Any good synthetic should do a good job. Like I said, just warm up the oil before beating on it. John

It is damned expensive. What are some cheaper syn oils to choose from? I have 4 car pans to fill. John

Like said above, Amsoil (sponser here) will far outshine any M1 you have. PP is also a great oil for a very fair price. Its what I ran all last year in both my Pontiac's. This year, for the TA... Im going Amsoil.

Royal Purple is worse than most dino oils....

    Amsoil isn't cheap.
Pennzoil Platinum is what I run in my cars currently. T/A will be going over to Amsoil soon though.
PP outshines Mobil 1 in about every area. Price included.

And switching oils isn't going to hurt anything.

    x2

And regular Pennzoil can get waxy, haven't heard anything bad about platinum.

My vehicles don't get synthetic, no need. (5w-30 Valvoline for the car, 15w-40 Shell Rotella for the diesel)

Normally no. Check with CompSyn, a sponsor here.

Most people buy into that crap about Royal Purple gaining power in their ads. Which may be true....but is it really protecting your motor?? No.
At normal temp, RP will shear (break down basicly) and not protect as well. I can sacrifice one RWHP for protection.

I found one place around me that is a Amsoil dealer. Its actually right across the street from a Autozone. Most places to not sell Amsoil, Like said above... Compsyn sells it here. And if you get on the preferred member (?) there is a discount.
