    Are the stock Ls1 valve springs weak?

    In stock form are the stock LS1 valve springs weak? Are thy known to break?

    Not that I know of. I do not know the pressure they hold but I have not heard about a mass failure in those springs.

    on the stock cam they should last a good long while.......if you're asking because you want to use them with an aftermarket cam then they're a terrible option. Nothing past stock lift.

    They'll work if left alone, but yes they are somewhat weak. I've heard instances on low mile examples to only have as little as 60 lbs. seat pressure.

    It's also why they seem to like to bend pushrods when bounced off the rev limiter, the stock springs have terrible valve control at those rpms.

    they work just fine on the stock cam but HAVE to be upgraded if you install a bigger cam, might as well do retainers and locks while your in there too
