Thread: Stock LS1 Valve Springs...

Stock LS1 Valve Springs...
Now i have some ticking it sounds like a sewing machine under the hood... now i took off the valve cover and i could move my ls1 springs... is that normal... shouldn't they be inplace and be hard to move? i took 3 pushrods and they were fine... please help... it doesn't sound right... and it doesn't sound like a rod knock..

I opened the valve cover... then took my fingers and wiggled the valvespings back and for a little... but it wasn't hard 2

Did you tighten the rockers down? I'm guessing that the ticking sound is the pushrod.

What is setup, stock? Any chance of a recent over-rev? The springs will move a bit if not compressed.

yes, you can move the springs arouns with your fingers, when valve is in closed position.

nothing wrong... just tighten the rockets down to specs and it is back to normal thanks guys!

when they back out again, clean em up and use some loctite blue. red is too much.
