About 450 rwhp. You can probably go 500 but its pushing it. I went 527 rwhp on 150 shot and it lasted *for awhile* before the stock crankshaft snapped in two

Thanks for the reply, sucks what happened to your crankshaft, I can only imagine what the engine must have looked like afterwards.

Crank should be good for much more than 500 RWHP.
It is normally the rods that give.

I know a guy that has put 10K miles on his turbo'd stock motor making 670 RWHP. Stock bottom end, stock cam/heads.

It really depends on what you are throwing at it.

I heard that LS1's are stronger after 30k miles... is there any truth behind that?

    They are completely broken in.
They may have slightly stronger power numbers around the 30K mile mark.

There could be some truth to that. Materials in general "strain harden" after subject to high temperatures and therefore can become stronger. Thats a very general statement because it depends on the material and it depends on the temperature and how long it was cycled to and from that temperature. So it would be hard to pinpoint exactly how much stronger if any.

    So the answer is yes.....maybe

I read in a few ls1 books that the stock bottom end should hold up until about 550rwhp. Then you will loose your pins. Biggest weak spot would be the valve train. "push rods".
    just my op.

Yeah, I've heard the pushrods go first, then the rod bolts. If you can replace the rod bolts with arp bolts then hardened pushrods you should have a pretty stout motor.

I've heard the crank is actually good for about 800 hp. Mine cracked and it is a very long story as to why but lets just say it was a POS crank to make it short.
