all I have is my phone and the mic sucks, and the cheapo computer mic that might work on my laptop. I'm going to try to get Bills98TA to come over this weekend to get some sound clips

back to topic.. (sorry guys not being rude)

I'd spring for the Patriot/PRC/whatever label is on that most popular set of dual springs rated .650 (and the extreme version is .660) over the 918s. The 918s seem to fatigue a little quicker, are expensive to get the light weight titanium locks and retainers (which the duals include), and have a worse record for breakage.

The extra seat pressure (valve control) is a plus too.

If you have 918s, I wouldn't run out and swap them for the duals, but when you get about 15-18K miles on your cammed setup and it's time to change springs, I'd go back with the duals personally.

    No problem.

Also to be clear, I am not calling the 918 a problem spring setup or a bad spring setup; I ran it in the past myself. I do believe you get a lot more for your money with the duals.

sounds like good reasoning to me......i wasn't sure on the mileage life of the 918s, so I guess I'll start to keep my eyes opened for a good deal on duals too and drop them in when it comes time for new springs

No dyno numbers til spring. From what I have heard, the 918's did have issues in the past but have been gone over and now I have heard of no issues with them. I will probably go dual when I do springs because when I do springs next time, a Maggie is going in and some other goodies

Personally I think PAC makes a better beehive than Comp and if I ever run a single again it will PAC. IIRC correctly PAC made the original 918's for Comp and after Comp switched suppliers is when they started having probs...
