SLP 525 HP Heads??
Do the SLP 525HP Heads really make 525 HP on a LS1 with an appropriate cam? Or, is 525 the limit, I was wondering. TIA!

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
It's possible, because they are AFR heads. It's not likely, because SLP likes to inflate numbers. The simple fact that they claim it makes 525 means that it probably doesn't. I'm sure they are claiming flywheel power anyways, then inflating it. There are much more sensibly priced h/c combos out there that provide as much or more rwhp than an SLP setup

Well guys, tell me what makes the most power for the dollar, please tell me expectable numbers and prices. I am wide open to all products right now. I'm not [yet] biased towards any company. Thanks a bunch for the help.

Anybody have a link to these patriot heads and what I can expect out of them WHP/WTQ wise on a stock engine otherwise, and cost? Thx!

What is your price range?
There is a very large variance in heads, if price does not matter than go AFR (or maybe even ETP). Otherwise, there are several good choices at various prices.

I don't know much about Patriots cams.
I would stick with a shop that has strongly proven themselves in that field. TSP, Futral, Thunder, etc.
You are looking at the Predator castings. Those are a Patriot casting. And more expensive. But the best heads Patriot has. Might be considering a set of them down the road for my 402.
Patriot has many cheaper heads. LS6 style.

The price isn't unreasonable for those, is all an LS6 swap is is just heads and intake?
For those heads I listed, what whp can I expect out of just the heads and a good cam? With an A4 trans, I'd likely get an auto..
Thanks!

Well, what can I expect to make WHP wise with the other available Patriot heads and a good cam, otherwise stock? Is a head and intake the LS6 swap? Thanks!

400 RWHP with the A4 and a good tune.

called up SLP and they said 500-525 at the engine after a professional tune like LS1 edit.. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=12226
I'd go with AFR package for 3k, do that and cold air induction, lid, new manifold..
you should race with the new Z06 at that point. it would be a very close race.
but if you want less hp 10-15rwhp less and save 900 bucks, go with Patriot + wgatever cam... I would do AFR deal..

I wouldn't.
Not through SLP anyways.
Overpay by $500 if you go with them.
