Should i replace anything else during heads/cam install?

    Should i replace anything else during heads/cam install?

    Picking up the heads/cam install kit, as for the other stuff am I missing anything...I already have .650 lift Comp. Springs and Manley Valves on the 243's im getting ported.

    My list
    LS7 Lifters
    LS2 Lifter guide trays
    LPE Oil Pump
    LS2 Timing chain
    7.450 Pushrods
    Bosch 30lb. Fuel Injectors

    ANd the wiring harness. Everytime my knock sensors have gone out, (every two years when it is emissions time), I have had to replace the harness as well.

    Are those fuel injectors going to be big enough to stay under the recommended 80% duty cycle?

    Know a few guys running 30 lb. injectors with similar & more aggressive setups...though im not an expert, someone wanna chime in in that?

    Actually just spoke to the guy doing my port work ...he said 30s are fine but he would go 42 just incase i ever wanna upgrade anything

    The formula for calculating fuel injector size is:

    (Horsepower X BSFC) / (# of injectors X duty cycle)

    In most cases a naturally aspirated engine will have a B.S.F.C of .50. This means that the engine will use .50 lbs. of fuel per hour for each horsepower it produces.

    So, in the case of your 30lb injectors you would get:

    (450 HP X 0.50) / (8 X 0.80) = 225 / 6.4 = 35.15 lb injectors needed. This is assuming you are going to be around 450 crank HP with this set-up. My guess is you'll be higher.

    It's just a "guesstimate" calculation. Obviously you can go past the 80% duty cycle.
