    Rod Bolt questions

I am rebuilding an 02 LS1 for my Jeep. The engine will be stock. My question is what are the tightening specs for the rod bolts. Do I do the torque and angle or do I use a stretch guage. I have everything to do both. The manual I have says to use bolt stretch, but it does not include any specs for this. It only has the torque and angle specs. Which one do I use. If it is stretch what are the specs. This engine will be pulling 3/4 ton axles w/38" tires w/4.30 gears. I do not want it to blow up during this abuse.

Torque to 15 ft lbs, then 65 degrees of twist. Stock rod bolts should be good up to 450 Hp.

It is not so much the HP that kills the rod bolts, it is the rpm's.
