    Road Race Cam GMMP

    gmmp cup cam 239/251 570/570 106.
I don't really see anyone under a 110 lobe seperation. Most are 112 and 114. How low can you go before it would not be steet drivable?
    I love it CHOPPY!!!

I'm with you, I thought 109 was narrow... I'd like to see some dynos and sound clips!

Choosing a cam for sound is just plain stupid but mine has a 111' and lopes like a pro stocker.

I agree, but still I'd love to hear it... I'd think to make it perform you'd need 12:1 or more compression.
My cam is on a 112lsa, but with 15 degrees of overlap its pretty choppy idling at 995 rpms

That would be nasty sounding as hell, but he is right about the choosing a cam for sound. But it looks like a really steap cam with those specs, I think it would be a bitch to daily drive that thing.

I have to say, my favorite aspect of having a cam is the choppy sound! Don't let these guys get you down, cam lope is frickin' cool and an important part of cam selection.

Lower the LSA the choppier, but duration also matters, and that is a huge duration/moderate lift cam for an LS1. Probably hard to drive on the street smoothly.

I'm running a 238/242 .595/.595 112lsa cam in my stock cube ls1 and its actually very streetable with the 3,800 stall (and pulls like a frickin freight train from 3,500 all the way past 7,000) I just wonder how much the 106lsa drops the powerband in the rpms compared to mine

You make me want a bigger cam - Dang now I have cam envy!

To OP, if the 106 LSA is too lopey and temperamental, you can always bump up the idle in the tune to make it idle smoother. More RPMs decreases lope. Is your car and auto or M6?? Your clutch and/or stall choice will make a significant difference in the streetability.

I was alittle worrird about going too too big with the, but its absolutely amazing and I'm cutting it short of its full potential still because I need bigger injectors.
Right now during wot I'm on the edge of traction up past 80mph. 3,800 stall with stock gears... I can't wait till it comes time to get the M/T slicks out of the basement and hit the track when it opens
