I run patriot gold dual springs with that same cam but that's because they came with my heads. You can run comp 918's with that cam but I liked the security of a dual spring.

I was looking at summit part number cca-26918-16 texas speed has a similar vlavespring but cheaper. how hard is it to switch springs, whats better comp cams pushrods or trickflows? didntmean to use a bit of a run on sentence but its 3am. so new springs, pushrods, 228r cam, tci 3000stall, 373 gears, and what i already have, cai, pace lts, slpcat, pacey, flowmaster cb, pcm tune, what do you think 1/4 would be?

I Bought some Texas speed heads with their double valve springs installed. They are good to .650 lift so you will be just fine with them. I would go with the Comp Cams pushrods. Changeing the springs will be a pain in the ass and you will need some special tools and an air comperssor. I'll try to find you a link to help in the cam and spring install and I'll post it later.
I live in Colorado so for your 1/4 mile time I couldnt tell you because we are close to a second slower than at sea level. I would guess you will be in the low to mid 12's? as a guess.

I have some comp cam chromolly rods and they work great. The springs shouldnt be bad ull need a vavle spring tool to compress the spring to get it off. Also u might want to do some more valvetrain upgrades like ls7 lifters oil pump, atleast an ls2 timing chain texas speed is who i called they can give u some good deals.
