I got a killer deal on the H&C package ($1000) They were brand new and Texas speed had a blowout sale at x-mass time sold 2 sets at that price and I got 1 of them.

The rest of the stuff, Fast 90, PTM 90 tb, Hardened pushrods, LS6 ported and shimmed oil pump, LS2 timeing set, Head gaskets, New head bolts all came out to $1400.

So the whole package I spent $2,400. You will be hard pressed to find it for that kind of deal. Texas speed loved me around X-mass time.

I also bought a new Spec 4 clutch, Spec billet flywheel ($625), a new updated Slave Cylinder ($145), and A new Strange 3" Chromoly drive shaft ($295) so I guess I have $3555 tied up in the project Just in parts.

Still going to give my Buddy some money for use of his shop and time, and My other friend is going to Dyno and street tune it for me.

I also suggest you paint the intake black for a few benefits. And I would put a nice ring of Ultra Cooper around the ports of the header gaskets now!

what are the benifits of painting the intake black? I have never herd of the benifits of painting an intake manifold.

personally i painted mine black because my car is black. also the gray color it is, will shart to show smudges, smears, etc. over time and lose its luster...

people have painted them red, orange, sliver, pewter, black, gunmetal, etc...

here's the link to my write up:

Well we stayed up to 1 am last night (Had to get up at 5:30 am for work) but we got everything done and fired her up. Sounded great and a buddy started the priliminary tune. We will be doing the street tune the next few days and then do the dyno tune towards the end of the week, or early next week.

Heat dissapation really doesn't apply too much for the plastic manifolds...Painting an intake, from the little experience I have with it, is done on carb vehicles because it's a metal intake, therefore reducing underhood temps. I dunno what results there are out there, but if you truly care/ need them, I guess every little hp counts!!

Just got done with the initial street tune with one of my tuners. We had to work a couple bugs out (My left O2 sensor was shot and had to replace it) but Man it is running and sounding awesome now . Very happy with the cam. So far, it has outstanding street manners and with my 4.30 gears pulls like a Mother!!. Trying to get used to the new clutch. Quite a bit different than the stocker.

I'll post Dyno results when we go down.
