Performance heads?

Are all 243 heads the same? Say off an LS2 or the LS6? Looks like the exhaust ports are slightly different. How much performance would I leave on the table if I got OEM 243 heads compared to CNC ported heads from Texas speed, etc.?

check Ebay. alot of people sell 241's and 243's. I got ported and polished 243s for 700.

a cnc head is worth 20 more hp.

no all 243s are not the same.

the 243s off of the ls6(yellow springs) are more wanted, due to their lightweight valves.

the other 243s are the heavy valves (sometimes referred to blue springs etc)

they can be found off of ls4s (should be able to find them cheaper at junkyards compared to vettes and gtos)

and ls2s.

you will be leaving a good amount of power on the table without getting them CnCd ....i'd suggest if you get a killer deal on oem heads get them and send them to wcch or such to have them port and cnc them for you.
