patriot perf cam 110lsa,232/230
im lookin at a patriot performance cam 110 LSA, 232/230 Duration, 580/580 Lift for 279.99 which seems like a decent price i have about a 1000 dollars to spend and was thinkin about gettin this along with some lt even though i live in cali...what else should i look into when gettin the cam installed?

A cam install will be about $1000 by itself if you do the install on your own.

originally i was lookin into a procharger setup but alot of people told me that i shoud try to build up my engine na and id be alot happier with it and then later on move up to the procharger...rite now im HOPING i can just payoff some smog guy but with my luck most likely not..overall just wanna quicker car to play with the big boys

That cam is for a manual trans, but if it is a ls1 engine you must have pushrods and springs with any performance cam change. If your lifters are the ones where the wheel is free, you must change them too. Titanium retainers if you can afford them, they are worth the money.
My advice for you is to find a good set of ls6 heads for around 500-600$
and put them on with the cam, that would really let the air in the cylinder.
Look around for prices, you could get a head/cam swap for around a grand, but remember to change the standard pushrods, they ar worthless for any more lift, and/or rpm. Also remember to get a decent tune up, and if it is ok, you might even pass smog inspection.
It is more expensive to upgrade the ls1 heads than it is to buy used ls6 heads, that also have the lighter and better valves.
Hope you can use some of this advice.
