Cool Which oil seems to stand out?

Getting my car out of storage soon. There are some new synthetics out now and I was just wondering which is the oil of choice. I use Mobil 1 5w20 or 30, can't even remember, and just curious if there's something better now. Only put about 2k miles/yr if that matters.

I've mentioned this a few times but check with "Sarge" his thread "oil junkie" is full of data to read about oils. He has actual test data on various types. He's got like 25 years in studying oils and testing. In my oppy he's the best there is on hard data.

Lots of oils out there better than Mobil 1. German Castrol, Castrol "new edge", Penzoil Platinum. These are just the off the shelf ones...

Penzoil Platinum was the one that I was curious about. Thanks for all the advice. Got some research to do.

Mobil 1 has reportedly failed the ASTM Test Sequence IVA, which is part of the API-ILSAC testing protocol. Until Mobil 1 addressed this claim, I’d be a little hesitant of putting it in my car.

So if I go with Amsoil or whatever, should I stick with the 5w20 or go to 10w30?
