oil pressure
On my 04 GTO, how do I eliminate my factory oil pressure switch... can I just hook the wires together to make it think its getting a good pressure reading?
The reason I ask is because i had a small engine compartment fire and doing a bunch of rewiring where everything burnt. I have an aftermarket gauge so I would just need to make the car think its pressure switch is hooked up keep keep it from setting off the buzzer and display warning.

it probably either needs the wires looped or not connected at all.

Not sure on the switch setup as to the wiring, but iirc it is has a common wire - supplying power, a normally open switch - which closes with pressure and allows the motor to run, and a normally closed switch - which opens when the pressure drops. I'm not sure how the computer interprets the signals - it may look for the switch to be open before allowing the engine to fire, and bypassing may not work.
I would check to see if one side of the switch is open/closed, and then wire accordingly.
