I only drive it on super nice days. 1-2k a year. I have one breather on the passenger side. I mean that's it. I guess i'll do some research on the ls6 pcv system.

I thought maybe adding a catch can would be safer.

Shady, this is the reason why I've been running the single breather in place of the oil cap and why i removed the pvc system.

all 4 of those things he said..minus the clean up under the hood..is solved by a pcv system with a good catch can...stops the oil into the intake.... plus with a ls6 pcv system ..you also clean up the pcv system .

still stock..didnt give a shit about my pcv until i started chasing down a vacuum leak about a month ago..then started reading heavily ..got pissed at how flimsy and all over the place our pcv system is (98) not sure about the rest. my set up will be within the month...ls6 style pcv system..going into a dual catch can set up from saikoumichi co. for me ..its more for a convenience thing ya know..but i will enjoy not having a messy intake..even though mine has been pretty clean.

I'm not sure how thats possible, but i'll have to believe ya. You can't hear a hiss for this vacuum leak?

From what I remember, those long bolts that hold down the intake are kind of a bitch in the back(hurts my knees and back too to bend over the car)...then you have to take the fuel rails off, i can't remember everything, but it took a couple hours if i remember right.

I'm 6'3 and got long arms, you think it'd be easier!

close pins.....need a deep socket and a shallow socket 8mm..(i think) and just go to town..the back 3 on the driver side need clips..and the back 2 on the passenger need clips...clip those up..then the rest is cake walk...10mm deep sockets for the fuel rail bolts (4 of them)..then just pull and move over out of the way. in all reality we dont even need to remove our TB if we dont want..so that would save some time......so with two people its not hard at all.
