Newbie Question
Hello to all, I just have a quick question. Would a 4.8 motor benefit from stock LS1 heads, intake, and an LS6 stock camshaft and tuned of course? I have a friend that wants to do this to his truck and i don't have a answer for him as to is it is beneficial.
Thanks

NO... You'd be dropping the compression alot. If you plan on a turbo or charger, then YES !!! Just my opinion !!! Bill

Look at the scrap yards LS motors are getting plentifull with all the kids totaling them every weekend. Tell him to spen the money on doing a full swap to a 5.3 or 6.0!!! If you can't find one local there is always Ebay.
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Absolutely do not try and make Anna Nichole out of Barbie, I agree with LS2Tuner.....Swap the block and do it up right....Also consider the cost. Heads etc versus a LS1 ready to go...
I would expect the cost of both projects or should I say either project to be close to the same....
