That's the smartest thing to do. Figure out your main goal for the car, figure out the componants it will take to reach that goal, do a lot of research on which componants are best, make a budget, and go from there. Never be afraid to ask questions here. There's a lot of experience here on the site, so we can point you in the right direction.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Well since you guys talked me into it , I guess ill get the converter. The more I read about it the more it seems like a good idea. I have the BBK Lt on the way with 80mm throtle body. I have the cam, MSD, LS6 intake is on the way all I need to get is the TQ and the springs roller rockers and pushrods. That's sounds like a pretty decent setup to me.
Any ideas where I can I get a good deal on this stuff?
By the way this site is awesome lots of great info and good people. Very helpful.

And I don't wanna put all that money into it and then having to change the motor half way thru summer.
Thank you guys for all the input. I guess now it comes down to how deep is my wallet. and how much work I wanna take on my self.
IMHO dont ever judge a car off of its miles, judge it off of the reliability and and on how it runs... my car has 120,000 on it and i drive it like it has 30,000(i beat the tar out of it) and after my frost tune im real confident that my A4 tranny will last forever till i start building good HP and TQ numbers the shifts are so firm.
I also had a 94 trans am M6 with 190,000 miles on it the only problem with that was rust and the valve seals were going out because it only burned oil on cold starts but that one i beat the crap out of that one even more...

listen to everyones advice in here it will be the best you will ever get, try to stay away from the old schoolers(not all of them ) when it comes to stalls because they believe a big stall is bad when these cars make there power high in their RPM range so they benefit from big stall....
