    New cam...what to expect!!??

    I have a 00 WS6 6spd. I just picked up a Comp Cams Custom Grind: 232/236 .579in and .579ex with a 114 LSA.

Current Mods: LS6 Cylinder Heads, Fast 90/90, Volant Intake, LT's, Offroad Y Pipe, Magnaflow Exhaust, 160 T Stat, 25% Underdrive Pulley, MSD Wires and NGK Plugs. Thats it as far as engine mods go. I have also done all free mods. I made 383WHP w/o the underdrive pulley when I dynoed.

What do you think I should be at hp/tq with the cam, double roller chain, underdrive pulley, ls6 pump, re-tune, and possible roller rockers. I am hoping for at least 425whp.

Any opinions on my cam choice and mods?

    Thanks,
    Evan

Roller rockers from what I heard are kind of a waste for the money when compared to how much power you gain from them. I had almost the same setup and made 422rwhp and 384rwtq. Your cam is a bit more than mine was, but it still should do about the same.

its not always about power...stability in the valvetrain is a must. if you upgrade your valvetrain completely..you can spin your engine higher if you ever wanted to for some reason..also preventing float is always good.

just make sure that you get a dyno tune to see the best results from your cam swap...and how many miles are on your motor? if its fairly high mileage then you might want to upgrade the oil pump, lifters, pushrods etc...

98 DumDum is probably real close to your #'s. Forget the double chain and roller rockers. No real need for them over good GM parts. Save the $ for suspension upgrades.
