Need new rods & lifters
ok so as it turns out i ran into another ls owner at a carshow this weekend
told him about my little ticking problem after a redline during a street race
well he said it sounds like a collapsed lifter or bent pushrod.
my question is whats an efficent but cheap fix?
its a stock LS1 block. and it will be replaced by a LS6 this summer so i need to fix this before i throw a pushrod and cause more damage.
sites would be much appriciated.
thanks

Interesting...sounds like the same thing I said 3 months ago
Any chromemoly hardened push rod - I got Manley. 7.4" length is stock.
Valve springs - comp 918's are popular.
Mark at KYSPEED sells this stuff. Give him a call and see what he can sell you for the cheapest to get you by.

Hold on - you don't want the stuff I spec'd
You want stock replacement parts. I'm sure Mark sells this stuff too.
And, not yet. I'm giving him a call tomorrow to see on delivery.

Interesting I believe we all said that those things could be the issue a few months back but i digress. anyway get some ls7 lifters from scoggin dickey new they're about 120 shipped and are the oem replacement for ls1 lifters. However they really do need a different pushrod they "should" work with the stock length ones however the cup is .050 higher in it and therefore to maintain proper preload and avoid ticking a 7.35 pushrod is desired. If your pushrods are shot then by all means do the ls7 lifters and get new pushrods if you just want new lifters then pm me because I have a link that still sells ls1 style lifters and will work with the stock pushrods but i cant post it up on here due to rules. Honestly though I dont ever remember reading that this started after a redline race...In that case pull the valve covers off and i almost guarantee you will find some bent pushrods then just get some new hardened ones from tsp

sell your car and put money back into your pocket.
im finding that you almost appear to be the most indecisive person about anything that pertains to your car, its issues, and your daydreaming about if you had money this, if you had the money that. its almost like you are trolling the tech threads.
i mean you know whats wrong, everyone has told you multiple times, so i fail to see why this still has not been addressed by now. i mean help us understand what exactly it is youre waiting for?
easiest answer: park the car, pull the pushrods and replace them. if you need to go a step further and pull the heads to replace the lifters, do it. replace it all with stock components should you 'actuially' get this other engine you speak of. in and out in a days time tops. its the easiest and cheapest fix: LIKE YOU HAVE ASKED FOR!
if you are really concerned about causing more damage, dont give us anymore excuses, park it and fix it...ASAP
of course, this is not bashing (though you may feel it is, it isnt), simply seeing multiple comments/posts/threads by you, based off observation time and time again. im calling you out to finally do something to fix your car and end the drama!
