Need help with cam and supp. mods
I was thinking about getting the texas speed 233/239 cam w/ 112lsa. I currently have LT headers, 3400 stall, 373 gears. I'd like to get the car into the 11's, idk if thats realistic or not, but right now I'm trying to make a list of the cam and all the supporting parts I should buy to do the swap. I know things like springs, pushrods, oil pump, timing chain. I'd like to know the exact parts I should get so I can make this list and buy things one at a time.

What's some good lifters to go with?

Oem replacements, which now are the ls-7 lifters. They are slightly bigger than the ls-1's I have been told so take that into account with your pushrods.

I can probably get all this from texas speed right?? I've also read most go with the ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain.. that correct?

yep that is correct. Some people get the double roller and don't realize it wont fit without a new gear etc. Your on the right track.

With dr's yes, you should be pretty close as it is what is your best so far?

Havent raced since the car was stock. ran a high 13 while sliding sideways, almost hit the wall. So I guess i'll add DRs to the list and ditch the sumitomos.

One of the guys in alaska hit 12.2 with a 3600 stall and some dr's, I hit 12.7 with just bolt-ons. Get some cheapo wheels and put the dr's on those might as well see what she does before you tear it down.

Do I just need the timing chain itself? or the whole kit?
-

I don't remember what came with the whole kit, I do rememebr it came with a sprocket that didn't look like it needed to be used because the old one didn't llok worn out. Someone mentioned they had to heat that sprocket to get it on and off-not worth the hassle in my thin book.

They have just the chain or the new gears/sprockets plus the bolts only $50 more for the kit

I bought the whole "kit" for 70 bucks if I remember correctly. It includes the Cam gear, crank gear, and timing chain. LS2 is a good chain, those double rollers require clearancing I preferred not to do.

The LS2 single roller is what I was planning on getting, that's good enough right? Does it require a whole new cover as well?

No, the stock LS1 cover will work fine. No modification required. LS2 chain is a really nice chain, I have pictures of the side by side comparison of the two chains. LS2 will do you fine.
