Just a few odds and ends stuff like the cylinder guides and one of the bell housing plug. Just small stuff that pops up.

Those pistons look so good in their new home.

You can see why I went to my cousins house.....

Order the replacement rings in from Seal Power......for the record....don't screw up rings, replacements cost more to ship then they do to replace.....

rings and balancer came in today....

If you have to deal with Total Seal Power, the guy I talked with was great. They have a 24/7 order line which I wish I knew of last Saturday.

I decided to go ahead and replace the old one. I read that over time the rubber core can deteriorate. Can't afford a ATI one, so for now stock replacement will have to do.

I had to get a stock replacement balancer too when my stock one cracked. Looks like the same exact one as yours.

I order it on Monday and went to pick it up, wrong part in right box. They had to pull one from ATL.

I also order the following from Brian Tooley Racing (I CAN'T POST LINK NOT A SPONSOR):

    Listed with GM Part Numbers.

Valve Cover Grommet Plug Part # 12568011 $8.50 This is to close the driver's valve pcv cover off. I have a catch can and LS6 VCT.
PCV Plug Part # 12579145 $3.75 Same as above, but for the passenger side
Block To Transmission Dowel Pin Part # 1453658 (Need 2 total, $3.95 ea) $7.90
Block To Head Dowel Part # 12558081 (Need 4 total, $1.85 ea) $7.40

To my surprise none of the local parts stores had these in stock or could get them. Dealership could, but at almost double the cost.

As I was telling another member, it's the little things that pop up that can add up in your build. Some of these items I do have but are either worn or missing.

Long damn day but I got it to here.

Some things to point out though....

IF you have a 6.0 block and reuse the rear plate make sure you have the correct rear plate bolts.

Use the bolt that is one the right, otherwise you'll never get torque and will leak.

Next IF you use ARP studs you need to resize 3 bolt holes on the windage tray. They are marked by the black tape.

Don't forget these...oil barbell and the front galley plug

And lastly the Trickflow damper bracket. This is what it would have looked like if it had stayed on. When tightening it down the instructions stated to tq to 18ft lbs. Well guess what the bottom 2 broke. So no damper this time. I'm going to contact Trickflow on Tuesday and see what can be done. It will work without it, it would have been one of those nice to have things. With the balancer on I don't think I could slide the oil pump forward enough to try to squeeze it in.

Also got the new springs and seated the valves on the heads. I'll take to my shop and have them pressure tested, check for level and cleaned up.

    Help!!!

Can anyone identify these 2 bolts? I think the one on the right is for the engine mounts but that bag they are in the label has smeared off.

The left looks like the bolts on the head for the grounds, which there are two of. The right are motor mount bolts.

    Guessing here...

Left - Tensioner to WP bolts? Alternator Bracket?
Right - Motor Mount Bolts...there are 16 total...the other four have nuts on the top for grounding wires.

Got off early yesterday and tried to work on side projects, like motor mounts, valve covers, etc......let's see what I discovered:

AC Condenser has a 1/2" dimple pushed in. It's toast....another $140 to the parts list
Motor Mount bolts for the mount to the block grew F#$king legs and have walked out.
Head bolts - The set I got was incorrect. My block is the 04 yr. Early 04's have the old style of head bolts (4 short, 16 long) while the new are all the same length. Guess what was sent to me. Sent back, now have to wait for refund to order correct ones......

ok, went to the chevy dealer to get the correct size for the mount bolts.

    M10x1.5x30 is the correct size.
