    No pics?

It goes without saying, but be sure to dump oil and coolant into her before you turn the key and also watch that the thermostat does not air lock. I remember a guy who was so excited to complete one of his first engine builds that he forgot to fill the cooling system. Fortunately, he shut it down in time after start up and no harm was done.

It's amazing all the tons of little details there are....

spent a couple of hours screwing around trying to figure out a good location for my catch can. After looking over a lot of pic of others it finally hit me. The TCS location is an ideal spot since I don't have TCS. It took a hour trying different approaches on how to secure it. In the end I came up with this. Used some left over parts from other stuff to make a spacer and using a bolt and a couple of nuts..

It even holds the Racetronics Fuel pump WH.

I'll swap out with a wing nut later for ease of removal to be able to access the drain cock when needed.

Otherwise she's ALMOST ready for start up....beginning to look like a real car

I just need some clarification on this wire from those that have installed their Racetronic's fuel pump wire harness. It's tag to go on the "alternator out post" I'm assuming they mean the one that has the big cable that uses a 13mm nut to secure. In this pic you can see said cable going behind the alternator and between the oil fill tube. Why would it not just come off the + battery post or the + post by the fuse box?

I got one more heavy cable that is black and not sure where it goes. It's on the passenger side, I'm pretty sure it's a ground but does it go to the starter or the block. Can remember? Help is appreciated.

Man, that alternator up there looks like a 6th toe on a foot.....just isn't right. You better go turbo quick to justify that move.

I can easily justify it new location because if you look at the pics you see all that black crap all over the alternator, that's from PS fluid leaking all over it. It's OEM location is a super bad spot for electronics. Under a PS Pump and low enough that water can hit it. Even GM realize that it was a bad location, just look at the Vettes.

It just takes getting use to that's all.

Turbo's ain't going to happen anytime soon unless a lotto winning ticket or a sugar daddy mails me a check. So when you sending the check?

Lol....fix the leaking reservoir or pump? Get a rag? New cap? Pretty sure GM had other reasons for repositioning the alt.....just sayin

Checks? Lmao....I'm on a spending freeze for awhile, but setting a little aside for a couple ideas I had in order to finish mine!

If for not having bad luck I'd have no luck at all......

Looks like I'm getting involuntary push back on finishing my build. Dr said I tore both ligament & tendon in left elbow and need to have it fix pronto (schedule for next Thursday Apr 3rd).

Don't know when it got injured just know that today I woke up in pain and couldn't grip anything or extend the arm out.

Looks like I'm going to have to call in some favor chits from friends to help finish it off.

Got some more done today. Fixed the starter issues, the small wire was touching the red wire somehow. Next filled the radiator, checking for leaks, glad to say none. Then I tested the fuel pump, glad to say that it works very well. Purged 3 1/2 gallons of old gas into a fuel can. What little is left will mix up with fresh gas. After that I hooked up the fuel lines and then the fun began. As soon as the key turn on and the lines pressurized I discovered 3 injectors spraying fuel all over the place.

Pulled the rails off, 1 o ring pinched and the other not seated as well as I thought. Fixed.

I believe I owe a pic or two so here...

Nothing so pretty like a Monster

Just a little break in oil...

Ok, looking for a no bs answer here. Can I turn it over with my current tune to see if it will at least start? I know idle and driving are out of the question I just want to know it will start and try to idel for a few seconds.

Shouldn't be a problem imo. Worse that'll happen is you'll foul some plugs and your fuel trims will go wonky if you run it long enough to hit closed loop.
