I think when you tell them it's for a 5.7 LS1 they forget or don't hear the LS1 part and think it's for the SBC 350's.....

Not sure for the long bolt I only need the short bolts since my sphohn solid motor mounts don't use a long bolt.

I was going to suggest a local hardware store - they typically have just about any bolt/nut size one can think of, and in different grades too.

I called 15 stores between Mobile & P-cola. This small hard to find Ace was the only one that had any. Every where else had them in 100mm or less. Some even doubted I measure correctly.

I take you mean about being doubted if I measure correctly. No this was some of the mom & pop stores.

Well got the bolt in and even installed the ac last night. The bracket was "fun" because I forgot to mark it as LS or LQ or my tag fell off.

I think I could have everything button up this week end minus the transmission.

Turns out ARP doesn't make one for LS GEN III engine mounts. yes for SBC but no for GEN III/IV.

I called ARP. Even their guy was surprised they didn't have one.

Sorry -- I was stating "Fastenal" as an option, but I read back through the thread and see that you already tried there.

She's finally in, leaving the ac belt off till I can get it purged and filled. Hate to see the compressor destroyed because of lack of oil/no freon. You can see now how the belt is going to go. So much room to service the r&p now with no alternator in the way. If I ever decide to go turbo I'm one step closer. Need to figure out where to put the catch can. The alternators new location is where it used to be and the water pump hoses and ac dryer prevents it from hanging off the the alternator bracket. Looks like I need to fab one up.

Also get some paint too for the radiator support.

Well, as I stated in the beginning of your build, I AM JEALOUS! But I am really happy for you and it is great to see you are almost there!!!! I cannot wait to see/ hear it running! I hope some day to be there as you are.
The service you are doing for me and all of the guys following your build is just awesome! I can't thank you enough! Thank you! I am finally at the beginning of your build with my engine, (still waiting on the $$ for the machine shop!), and am looking forward to getting to where you are now! Thanks again! You have given me the inspiration to keep going forward with mine now!

Congrats Scott. That has to be a good feeling seeing the engine setting down in there.

I think I'm more nervous then anything else now. I hope everything goes right. It's been so long since I've been able to enjoy it.
