Tired of replacing alternators because of leaks from the PS pump. I've replaced 2 because of it. It makes no sense to have it in that position. Also it is now so much easier to service. Besides the kit you will need to reroute the wires to the new location to include the thin small wire . I've already done this while the block was out and had open access.

Cool write up with pics. Thanks for the effort. I am new to the forum. I to am building a 6.0L engine combo for my
1970 SS Chevelle retro fit project. Learned some good things from your build. Will be very interested to see the tranny upgrade. You going to do that u self or have it done? Thanks for all the info so far. Great job on the motor.

Thanks...I know nothing of transmissions outside of clutches. I kinda think they are some voodoo product that only mages understand how to fix them. I have my cousin working on it as we speak.

I order this in prep to install the block this weekend. That's the plan anyways. Also have a Monster Stage 4 clutch in the mail coming this way too. This "should" be the last of big purchases. All that is left is tuning.

I could have gotten a cheap one but they all look flimsy to me. Last thing I'd want would be having this up in the air and have it drop. I could have used the chains but this looks to be easier to manage. We'll see. Only cost me $65

Laid the headers in first, make it easier to do them later.

wrapped the balancer up with a towel to protect it and tilt it and in it went. Took longer to line up the bolt holes then to lift in.

    installed the headers and plugs.

now the fun begins again......trying to remember how I took it all apart.....

one step forward two steps back

Went to install the ac bracket and found the passenger engine mount bolt missed the back side of the pedestal

Spent an hour getting it out to find it stripped then another 2 with no luck looking for a replacement. So now I have to wait for tomorrow for Fastenal.

Oh I bought a GoPro for when it gets back up and plan on using it extensively

no clue......frustrating day.....it's got to be because I have poly mounts. My buddy told me he had one hell of a time getting his to line up also. No give at all....

I struggled with mine as well. Took a pry bar and an extra set of hands to finally get it together. I think I had the bolt through the mount and then attached the mount to the block for some reason. Can't remember why I had to do it that way, but at the time there was a reason.

Fastenal doesn't have it, neither does the dealership. It will take 2 weeks to get one from GM.....Summit should have it to me tomorrow. Had to order ARP.
