    MS4 Cam with no Stall?

what will or what could happen if i were to install an MS4 cam without a Stall? will it still work or is a stall necessary first....

I would say if you truly want to harness the true potential of the cam, you'll need the stall. You can install that cam, and you will see a huge difference... but you'd see and feel a ton more with a converter.

Also I believe the idle will be really rough, to the point that you might actually hate the ride. Not actually sure if it will break anything but a lot of cams require stalls to run properly, I would not get the cam without a stall.

Stall of atleast 4000 is required with that cam as well as shorter gears.

A car with a Ms4 with a stock stall and gears will be a complete dog.

I run the MS3 with 3.73's and a Circle D 3200 stall and really would have prefered a 3600 after driving it for a while. Still fun but needs a higher stall. I couldn't imagine a MS4 with no stall and stock gears.

The brakes will barely contain your car at a stop light. It wouldn't be a joy to drive. Pair it with a large converter and i'm sure it'd be beasty track car.

I DDed for over a year with my car with my 223/231 612/617 112lsa cam with no stall. It was not enjoyable but it wasnt awful. The car was slower because it took forever to get to the power but it was definitely drive able.

That cam and an MS4 grind don't even compare either....

The MS4 has more duration, way more lift and lower LSA.

Why must you get the MS4?

What are the goals of the car? Street? Drag? Daily driver?
Let me say, dyno numbers shouldn't really be one of them.....

Personally I would do the Vindicator Cam instead, not as much of a strain on the valve springs and it still has a really good duration. 240/244 .605/.596 LSA 112. You need to check P/V with it though.

Biggest cam isn't always the best performance.

You can also do a custom grind that will fit your application, but personally. I'd get one that fits the LS1s cubes better then get a much larger cam for the 408 down the road. You can get plenty of the cam after you upgrade. Usually 285, even 300.

I am running a stock stall with the 228R cam. The car will get up to about 10mph on its own without gasing it from a dead stop. You have to hold the brake like crazy. Your tuner my not like you much lol

    Can it be done yes
    Should it be done no

The stall is going to lockup around 45mph and after that its up to your rear gear ratio as how its going to be rpm/gas mileage wise. Mine love the interstate.
