ms3 or ms4
i am about to put a cam in my car. i am either going to go with the ms3 or ms4 cam. from what i have seen the ms4 makes a little more power but i have seen better track times on the ms3 cam. in the top 10 cam only ls1 there are two ms3 but no ms4? i want the cam that is going make me run the fastest at the track, what cam should i get?

Neither.
Unless you plan on having a dedicated strip car.

A custom grind.
But if you need something off the shelf...something in the range of 232/232 600/600 112.

Look at what the cam in my car did in the thread titled "So it Begins" and then think about getting a custom grind. My cam kit was like 1000 and was cam, springs, and pushrods.

Even a mid-range cam would knock off decent time.
Hard to say how long that 10 bolt will last though as you start adding more power.

No doubt MS4 is gonna make a shit load of power, but its not gonna be driver friendly. It chops like a demon from hell. Bigger isnt always better. The MS cams are peak power cams and make all the power up top, and have little to no power of idle making for a bad power curve. With that setup and an MS4 after a good tune, you should see high 300's if not a tad over 400 to the wheels. Just a thought...ditch the flows and strap on a magnaflow or GMMG.

Honestly, dont get either now that u think about it. Throw in a nice T-rex with a set of heads and make even more power. Sure itll cost a bit more, but ur prolly gonna want heads sooner or later. This way you can chose a less agressive cam and make up the power u lost (if any at all) with a set of heads.

if it brakes i will get a 12 bolt or 9in, the only reason i have a built 10bolt is because my friend built it and decided not to use it so i put it in my car

im running the ms3 cam and the 2.5 cnc heads from texas speed. and this car drives like a dream for me. it is true though its a lil slugish taking off . just gotta throttle a lil bit more . but the sound is amazing and the power feels great.
