harden pushrods/ LS6 intake with a p&p tb would also be a real good idea IMO
now if you add 3.73 gears and a stall you would have a real nice DD car that will haul ass lolLast edited by Blackbird WS6; 04-23-2009 at 05:39 PM.

With just the Hotcam, if your completely set on that cam.... the LS7 lifters will be fine.
So close to stock Base circle, PROBABLY 7.4 CM pushrods. Call comp or really any vendor for them. Thats such a very, very mild cam.... You dont necessaryily NEED gears. But gears help any car fbody out.

If you're getting the LS2 Chain, just use the stock timing gears.

if your not set on the hot cam you might wanna check on a 224 cam more power pretty much same driveability

i really didnt wanna waste money on a stall as i plan on buying a new Camaro eventually and didnt wanna sink the money into this one
but from what i hear the cam will only leave me wanting more
i got about 2500 i can sink into this car for everything
what can everyone recommend then?

'Waste' Money on a stall? If you think adding a stall is wasting money into this car... keep it stock. If you want a cam that is going to do a damned thing.... over the puney Hotcam.... you NEED a stall. That hotcam is a waste of money. IMO. Why even go threw the work for such a tuny cam, barely larger than your stock. I think your thinking backwards. If anything, adding JUST a stall and no cam... is a good idea. Adding JUST a cam and no stall is the worst idea ever.

didnt mean to sound like that haha
id rather put 400 into a payment on a SS2 over a stall on this one
but i get it
ok then
whats the suggestions on a stall and a better cam than a hot cam
i want some balls nothing insane though its a DD
like i said i HAVE 2500 to burn but id like to stay in the 1-1500 ball park if possible

228R cam. Good/Great DD power cam. Will drive very close to stock. Ask them what stall you should run. I would guess, somewhere around 3600-3800.
That will be a badass ride that is 100% DD-able.

How many miles on the car? I stayed with stock lifters. My short block only had 15000 miles on it though. If your taking the heads off, then sure.... Buy some LS7 (stock LS1 now). The maker of that cam is a non sponsor here at LS1.com so I will let you search. If you call COMP Cams or Cam Motion and tell them that cam, they will be able to make it for you. Hell, thats who makes it for the other manufactures.
