Are there any clearance issues when putting a mega death cam in a ls1?

    Sadly now demodded :(

Got any specs on said cam such as lift, duration and LSA? These numbers are what will tell you the info you need to know.

I'm thinking you'll need better springs for sure and you might have to flycut the pistons. The .612 might not have enough PTV clearance.

FWIW: This should have gone in the internal engine section where everybody else would see it. I only came across it cuz I check for new posts.

I can't tell you if it will clear without more information.

    What lobes is it on?
    What duration at .050"?
    What heads?
    What head gasket?

Is the car geared to at least 4.30 for an M6 or 4.10 for an A4?
Why the need for a big cam?

That's a 240+/240+ cam. Why do you want this huge cam? Have you looked at dyno graphs on this donkey log? Say goodbye to power under the curve, and you better have a solid 4.30 gear... 4.11 minimal.

It should clear with stock heads, gasket, pistons. But you really need to throwout the cool name "megadeath" and look for something that might fit your driving characteristics better. Granted, you didn't state any. That is also something that should always be included in these camshaft threads. Goals, transmission, gear.

That cam is huge for a 346, and will be a high RPM performer. Check out the Camshaft thread in my signature for a decent read dealing with camshafts.

Edit - just googled that cam. Its a 244/242 .612 .610. That cam is huge with a cool name. Whats your goals for this car?
