Main bearing Side bolts

Got my rotating assembly back today and am starting to check bearing clearances and reassemble the block.

My question is based on what the book says.

Chilton says to use new main bearing cap side bolts, due to o rings will be damaged on the old ones. The problem I am running into is that the old ones don't have o rings.

So on third gen aluminum blocks do I need to replace these side bolts?

I reused my side bolts, with no problems !

Re-use your old ones.

Just put some thread sealer on the threads.
