    ls6/z06 heads cam install question

I just took my car in for a heads/ cam package install. I do alot of work on my car but felt out of my league to do it myself. Heres what he ordered to put in.

    1. Used z06 "243"heads with 6,000 miles on them. He billed me for 9 hrs for a port and polish on them he said would really wake them up.
    2. Comp cam XR269HR $409.00
    3. ARP head bolts $125.00
    4. camshaft kit (duel springs, titanium retainers ect.) $635.00
    5. adjustable timing chain set $248.00

Theres seals and fluids as well but these are the main things. My question is what should I be looking for that says he did a good job? "House of Power" is the name of the shop here in Huntington Beach and he did the work on the Rod Millen GTO for drifting and his race car. I have the Vinci handheld tuner that has a preinstalled tune in it just for this cam but would it be better to let him tune it himself? Im already in the $5,000.00 range and dont want to spend much more if I dont have to. How much HP should I be looking for with a good port/polish with these parts? Ive searched the threads and read up but getting some rel time info from the fellas here would really make me feel better and if theres something I should do now that its all opened up nows the time to do it.

I probably would've swapped that oil pump to a ported LS6 pump while he was in there and an underdrive pulley. Does he offer flow numbers on the heads or just tell you they're good?

he just tells me how long he spent on the p/p but he may have a flow bench to tell me numbers, I havent talked to him since he finished them though. So the oil pump shouldve been changed? That can only be gotten to from there or can it be accessed through the oil pan? I asked himspecifically about the pump and he said it didnt need it.

well, the oil pump doesn't HAVE to be done......it's just always a good idea to do that stuff while the engine is torn down that far. It's also pretty cheap to do( ~$140) so it's cheap insurance.
