    LS6 heads and cam

Im thinking about picking up LS6 heads and a LS6 cam. but i figured if im going to do that work, should i just go with a texas speed cam thatll get me about 50 rwhp? but can the stock LS6 heads take it? my car is absolutely stock except for a lid. im only looking for 400rwhp without touching exhaust. i wana make it look stock.

better flowing heads plus that cam won't amount to what your wanting with the stock exhaust. kinda pointless.

i have the ls6 in my car and it gets the job done. it is a complete sleeper. i have lt headers no cats and a cutout. with it closed it just sounds like a very quiet catback. but when its open it is pretty loud. it runs high 11s on the motor.

headers suck at fitting from my experiences...the hit the damn car under hard throttle or they hang wayy to low.....but i may just go with kooks. ive never used them and ive never head a complaint. oh and i need cats

Yes, crap headers suck with fitment. Good headers fit fine. Stay away from SLP headers and your fine. Pacesetters, Kooks, ARH SW are all fine and wont have any problems

my problems came from pacesetters haha. i shouldnt say the headers fit poorly, but the way they curved upwards made the y-pipe thud whenever i accelerated. i HATED it.

Custom y pipe is the way to go for proper fitment.

No cats here. Why do you need cats? Is there a visual inspection in NJ? I take my car thru emissions without em. Never had anyone look under it yet.

well....the place i usually go to has random things as far as i know. sometimes they do certain things, sometimes they dont. i have never been checked under the car, but i have seen cars that have. and for the first time the other day i actually had to open my hood. also i heard if a cop pulls you over and sees that you dont have cats he can slap a HUGE fine...dont know how true that is yet, but im not willing to find out.

There is a big fine supposedly. I've never in all my years heard of anyone getting one tho. Mustangs have been running around loud as hell for decades with no cats so I will too.

Yea, I guess having cats in the equation could change fitment issues. That blows you need cats.
